Joint Mid-winter Training
On January 9, 2022, we held a mid-winter training, this time in three parts at two venues, in the midst of the Corona disaster. The event was also broadcasted online.
The training began at 10:00 a.m. in a solemn manner. After chanting the Dojokun, Soke Nakazaki gave us the New Year's message.
The theme for 2022 is 新 "New". As the old saying goes, "Practice begins at one, reaches ten, and returns to the original one. As Yushinmon celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, it is time to go back to basics and make a fresh start.
After the greetings of the guests, we started with KIHON (the basics), and practiced KATAs from ANANKU to BASSAI, as well as YAKUSOKU KUMITE. The mid-winter training proceeded in a dignified atmosphere.
Soke Sensei told us that we should practice SEISAN, the "Tiger" of GOKEN, which is also connected to this year's zodiac sign "Tiger", for one year from elementary school students to adults.
He taught us once again that SEISAN is to build the bony framework and the inner strength of the body.
Through the training, everyone had their own goals and could start the year with a renewed spirit.
