September 18, 2022 (Sunday)
The 29th Tokyo Karatedo Championship was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Yushinmon.
Selected players from each ward in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture gathered and fought a hot battle.
Also, this time, Mr. Rafael Cuevas Kyoshi from Puerto Rico came to Japan for 11 days, received special training from the Soke, and participated as a referee at the tournament.
Beginning with Yushin Taiko drumming, the representatives performed a shiwari demonstration in front of the guests.
The opening was filled with anticipation for the games that were about to begin, with attempts to break boards, break blocks, and tile breaking using a variety of kumite techniques.
In addition, 20 rank holders will perform powerful Oshiro sticks, black belts in each class will demonstrate their skills,
The representative instructor performed the ``Bassai'' and ``Ku-shanku,'' which were directly handed down by the Nakazaki Soke, as well as Saijutsu (Sou-ryu tesshaku ) and Tokumine's stick.
On the day of the event, Typhoon No. 14 caused heavy rain damage in various places, and considerable damage was seen in various areas of Tokyo where the Olympic Center is located.
When the matches of each weight category started, they were full of enthusiasm and enthusiasm as if they were going to beat the sound of the heavy rain hitting the roof of the venue.
In addition, Yuya Takahashi won the general men's kumite match for the first time in three years (participating in the 26th tournament). It seems that the quick attack power from close range cultivated as a professional led to the victory. Also, this year's Most Valuable Player Award (Soke's Award) went to junior high school boy Iori Oshima,
High school girl Maria Mochizuki was selected for the Fighting Spirit Award.
The award of these two young men seemed to predict a bright future for Yushinmon.
